Among the Ants is open to collaborations with Greek and foreign artists, and European and international cultural networks, as it intends to create a platform for multicultural and multinational collaborations in the field of street and open air art for the benefit of artistic exchange and creation.
For the Ants, outdoor arts include projects, performances and interactive events that take place in public view.
The Street Arts Camp and Khaki Kite Festival is the most ambitious project of the company, focus on promoting the creation of art in public spaces. It is an initiative planned for August/September 2013 in the area of Larnaca, and aims to be established in an annual basis. It is a project that combines both an educational and artistic aspects.
The Street Arts Camp is a residential, intensive and demanding 2-week training programme, which combines educational and artistic components. It aims to become a genuine opportunity for performers from all over the world to develop their knowledge, skills and talent towards various disciplines of street arts through securing high quality training.
Khaki Kite Festival on the other hand, is a 2-day festival that will be used as the platform to share the results of the training process to the audiences, while inviting performers and visual artists to take part with performances, installations and other art works in various public locations in the city centre of Larnaca.
Since 2009, Among the Ants collaborated with various companies, artists and ensembles organizing artistic residencies, performances, workshops and conferences in Greece, Cyprus, Denmark, Malta and the UK. Since January 2012, the company’s base is now in Larnaca, Cyprus. So far we have collaborated with the following artists and companies:
